Designing for print is different then designing for online. Artkade has 10+ years working with the print industry.
Whether you need a logo or need us to develop a corporate brand, your brand will shine through in all mediums: brochures, books, advertisements, or any print project.
Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be, and you can’t be all things to all people. Who you are should be based to some extent on who your target customers want and need you to be.
The foundation of your brand is your logo. Your website, packaging and promotional materials–all of which should integrate your logo–communicate your brand.
Your brand strategy is how, what, where, when and to whom you plan on communicating and delivering on your brand messages. Where you advertise is part of your brand strategy. Your distribution channels are also part of your brand strategy. And what you communicate visually and verbally is part of your brand strategy, too. It’s a lot, for certain but Artkade helps businesses put all parts together into a cohesive story and message.
Is very similar to web design, both mediums need the designer to be experienced and knowledgeable in their medium. It’s important to know the pitfalls that can occur.
Have you ever hired someone to do a design for you, but when you went to try and get it printed it looked totally different or the printer contacts you and says he needs new files because they were set-up wrong? Well that won’t happen when you work with Artkade. We typically work directly with your printer of choice, so you don’t need to, and if anything is incorrect we fix it!
Oh so easy.
SOME OF OUR SPECIALTY…
Few people know how color works when it comes to print, and fewer still know how to solve them. We have particular experience and knowledge when it comes to print production and color correction. We understand printer color profiles, and we can adjust any image to make sure it matches the printer specs.
We review all color with daylight lamps, we utilize current Pantone swatches and we will work closely with your printer to find out what color profile they use for their presses. Artkade takes care to cross our t’s and dotting our i’s to get all color production correct the first time.
There are many facets to the expressive use of typography, and with those come many different techniques to help with visual aid and the graphic design. Spacing and kerning, size-specific spacing, x-height and vertical proportions, character variation, width, weight, and contrast, are several techniques that are necessary to be taken into consideration when thinking about the appropriateness of specific typefaces or creating them. When placing two or more differing and/or contrasting fonts together, these techniques come into play for organizational strategies and demanding attractive qualities.
Of course all typography should be part of your company brand and following the brand specs. In case you don’t have one we will work with you to make sure your typography is consistent with your company design.
